Rangers must land Harry Winks transfer

Rangers have not been shy when it comes to signing players from clubs south of the border in the past.

This latest summer transfer window has seen the Gers bring in players such as Ben Davies and Tom Lawrence from English clubs to help strengthen their squad.

Another player the Ibrox side secured from England is Scott Arfield, who made the move to Glasgow from Burnley back in the 2018 summer window.

With there still being some time left before deadline day arrives at the end of this latest transfer period, the Gers could use this time to secure a potential successor for the former Clarets star.

Earlier in the window, the club were mentioned with a potential move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks.

Hailed as a “perfect” player by former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, Winks could be a valuable asset for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

To compare the £91k-per-week Englishman with Arfield, according to SofaScore, the duo have an identical rating for their tactical ability as well as a similar rating for their defensive prowess, highlighting some similarities between the pair in the middle of the park.

By the same metric, Winks trumps the current Rangers midfielder in terms of his technical, creative and attacking ratings, which suggests that he would be more of a threat in front of goal than the Canadian.

Despite playing ten fewer league games than Arfield last season, the 26-year-old still managed to deliver more crosses and make more interceptions than the former Burnley figure.

Bearing in mind that the 33-year-old is one of the oldest figures in Rangers’ squad, the Spurs man may well be seen as a viable and suitable long-term replacement for the veteran at Ibrox.

Taking into account how the Englishman only started nine Premier League games for the north London club last season and was not included in the squad for their opening match of the season against Southampton yesterday, this suggests he could be surplus to requirements at the club and would be better off elsewhere. Indeed, reports of late suggest he is now expected to leave north London before September 1st.

With that in mind, a potential move to Ibrox where he can play regularly and fight for trophies at a big club would surely be a tempting prospect for him.

As a result, the Gers should certainly explore a move for the midfielder so they can tick off a long-term replacement for Arfield on their list.

Everton keen on Leander Dendoncker

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker this summer, but Bruno Lage would be foolish to let the Belgian leave Molineux.

What’s the word?

According to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano: “Everton want to sign an extra quality midfielder. Frank Lampard has also Leander Dendoncker on the list, he’s appreciated by board and manager. Everton, ready to explore this move in the next weeks.”

The 27-year-old’s contract at Wolves is set to expire at the end of next season, but Romano says that the Old Gold have the option to extend that by a further year, which would suggest that they are under no pressure to sell the Belgium international this summer.

Supporters will be gutted

Dendoncker was a regular in Lage’s side last season, making 30 appearances in the Premier League, so unless Wolves receive an excellent offer from Everton, it would be strange to see him sold to the Toffees.

Since initially joining on loan from Anderlecht in 2018, the versatile midfielder has gone on to make 154 appearances for the Old Gold, contributing 12 goals and four assists.

Transfermarkt currently values him at £25.2m, so unless Everton are willing to make an offer in that ballpark, Wolves should keep hold of Dendoncker, especially considering their lack of options in midfield.

While Lage has managed to retain the services of Joao Moutinho, and Ruben Neves is looking increasingly likely to remain at Molineux, the Portuguese manager isn’t blessed with a plethora of midfield options, and supporters would surely be gutted if they were weakened further by the departure of Dendoncker.

Connor Ronan and Morgan Gibbs-White could both be in the first-team picture next season after impressive loan spells but they are relatively untested in the Premier League, while Bruno Jordao has left the club to join Grasshoppers Zurich.

Wolves have made just one new signing so far this summer, with Nathan Collins joining from Burnley, and unless Lage has replacements for Dendoncker lined up, it would be a mistake to sell the Belgian to Everton this summer.

Rangers not eyeing Amad Diallo

An update has emerged on Rangers and their plans for the remainder of the summer transfer window at Ibrox…

What’s the talk?

The Heart & Hand podcast’s Twitter account, who are an official media partner of the club, has revealed one player the Light Blues are not plotting a deal to sign.

They Tweeted: “Amad Diallo not on Rangers radar currently.”

The Manchester United man spent the second half of last season on loan at Ibrox and does not appear set for a second stint in Scotland.

Gio van Bronckhorst will be gutted

This update will leave the head coach gutted as he would surely be keen for Ross Wilson to target a swoop for the attacker again.

Amad endured a difficult start to his career at Ibrox but came into his own in the final weeks of the campaign and offered a glimpse of what he could do with a full season – and a pre-season – to showcase his talent.

The wizard, who cost the Red Devils £19m in 2021, only managed one goal – with zero assists to his name – in his first seven Premiership outings after scoring on his debut against Ross County. He struggled to make his mark early on after joining midway through the season and then burst into life towards the end of his loan.

In his last three Scottish top-flight matches, he scored two goals and caught the eye with SofaScore ratings of 6.9 or higher in all of them. He found his feet in a Light Blues shirt and showed that he does have the quality to make a big impact in the final third.

Former United man Dan James previously hailed his ability, saying:

Amad has come in and, as a young lad, he’s been unbelievable in training.

I mean his professionalism [is very good] and he’s settled in straight away, I’d say, do you know what I mean?

We see his quality in training, he has unbelievable feet, but we’ve seen he also presses well and wins the ball back, which is exactly what we want.

The 19-year-old, therefore, could have been an influential player for Rangers next season after six months to get settled in in Scotland.

Instead, he will either be staying at Old Trafford or moving elsewhere, leaving van Bronckhorst fuming that he will be unable to work with Diallo again in the 2022/23 campaign.

Leeds: Contact made for Mo Camara

Leeds United have allegedly made ‘direct contact’ with Red Bull Salzburg over a possible move for Mo Camara and he’s even been hinting at a move on Instagram.

The Lowdown: Camara profiled

The Mali international is primarily a holding midfielder who can also play in a box-to-box role. The 22-year-old is valued at a career-high £24.3m by Transfermarkt and has made 76 appearances for Salzburg, 42 of which came under Jesse Marsch.

He has played more under Marsch than any other manager, and it looks as if a reunion between the two at Elland Road is now a possibility.

The Latest: Contact made

LUFCFANZONE took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to share a conversation that they had with Camara’s agent.

They stated that Leeds have once again been in ‘direct contact’ with Salzburg, this time over a potential move for the Malian. An offer is yet to be made, but the player’s agent hopes ‘to have an answer very soon’.

Camara has added fuel to the fire over an Elland Road move by replying to a Leeds supporter on Instagram. Responding to a fan who urged him to move to Yorkshire, he posted blue, yellow and white heart emojis.

[web_stories_embed url=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/latest-leeds-united-news-45/” title=”Latest Leeds United news!” poster=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/cropped-2022-03-10T184055Z_1834933207_UP1EI3A1FW561_RTRMADP_3_SOCCER-ENGLAND-LEE-AVA-REPORT-1-scaled-1.jpg” width=”360″ height=”600″ align=”none”]

The Verdict: Phillips replacement?

It looks as if Camara is on Leeds’ radar to potentially replace Kalvin Phillips, who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City.

The Whites may end up receiving a large fee for the England international, which could then be put towards a move for Camara. It looks as if the Malian is keen on a move with his response to a Leeds fan on social media, and he could be the perfect replacement due to his age, versatility and experience of working under Marsch already.

RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams appears to be another potential target to come in for Phillips, but you’d expect that it would be one or the other with Camara and not both.

Newcastle pushing for Sven Botman transfer

Newcastle United are reportedly advancing their efforts to secure a summer move for Lille defender Sven Botman.

What’s the news?

In a recent tweet from journalist Fabrizio Romano, the transfer expert touched upon the current situation regarding the Magpies’ attempt to sign the 22-year-old.

He said: “Newcastle are pushing to sign Sven Botman as soon as possible. Talks entering into key stages with Lille, AC Milan still in the race but NUFC are now advancing. Negotiations with Newcastle started last January, Botman is open for this PL possibility.”

After working his way through Ajax’s youth ranks, the defender joined the French club in the summer of 2020.Since then, the 22-year-old has made 79 appearances for Lille across all competitions, chipping in with three goals and two assists along the way.Great news for HoweBotman’s latest season with his current club saw him make 32 appearances across all competitions. To highlight the Dutchman’s importance to the team, they only managed two clean sheets in the 13 league games in which he didn’t feature, showing just how much they miss him when he’s not available. He also racked up a higher average of clearances per game (4.5) than any of his Lille team-mates and earned himself an overall performance rating of 6.83/10 from WhoScored, making him their third-highest rated player for the campaign. For context, Dan Burn was the only Newcastle centre-back with a better rating in 2021/22.This could make the French club reluctant to let their star defender leave this summer, despite his apparent willingness to play in the Premier League. However, taking into account how the Tyneside club have reportedly been after him since January, their eagerness to add Botman to their ranks could also convince the player to wave goodbye to France and begin the next chapter of his career in England. Now that Romano has claimed that the Magpies are advancing their attempts to bring the centre-back to St James’ Park and beat AC Milan to his signature, this will be great news for Eddie Howe as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the upcoming season. If the Toon can finally complete the signing of Botman in the coming weeks, this would surely put them in a good place to take on their next Premier League campaign and bolster their defence. In other news: Newcastle eyeing £15m magician Shearer dubbed “magnificent”, he’s better than Almiron

WBA must complete Carter-Vickers transfer

West Bromwich Albion secured their first signing of the upcoming summer transfer window on Thursday as they announced the capture of John Swift from Reading.

Now that they have one deal confirmed for the summer, the Midlands club and Steve Bruce can move on to other areas of the squad that they feel may need strengthening.

Looking at the defence, despite making 39 appearances in the Championship this season, Kyle Bartley is currently the oldest centre-back in West Brom’s squad.

With the 31-year-old’s current contract at The Hawthorns set to expire in the summer of 2023, the Baggies could well look to sign a long-term replacement for the Englishman this summer.

One figure with whom West Brom have been linked recently and who could fit this bill is Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Having spent the 2021/22 season out on loan from Tottenham Hotspur again, this time securing the Scottish Premiership title with Celtic, the centre-back showed how formidable a defensive unit he can be.

With 43 interceptions and 22 tackles to his name in the Scottish top flight, the American ended the season with the highest average of clearances per game (4.2) in Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Bartley 2.0

Taking into account how Bartley ended the campaign with the highest average for clearances per game (four) in West Brom’s squad, this highlight how similar the defensive duo are in that regard.

Described by Celtic full-back Greg Taylor as a player who has “got all the tools”, as well as being called a “huge” part of why the Hoops were so successful this season, Carter-Vickers reportedly has a price tag of £6m.

His overall league performances for Celtic earned him a season rating of 7.36/10 from WhoScored, which would have made him by far the highest-rated player at The Hawthorns by the same metric.

Even though Celtic are reportedly and rather unsurprisingly looking to turn Carter-Vickers’ loan deal into a permanent move, the Baggies should definitely jump in and try and convince the defender to make a return to England and help to take West Brom back to the Premier League.

If the Midlands club are able to bring the 24-year-old to The Hawthorns, he could well go on to become an ideal long-term replacement for Bartley given his clear defensive talents.

West Ham: Journalist shares major David transfer update

Journalist Ignazio Genuardi has now shared a major transfer update out of West Ham United involving in-demand Lille star striker Jonathan David.

The Lowdown: Hammers eye move…

It’s been over a year since club record signing Sebastien Haller departed east London for Ajax and manager David Moyes still hasn’t seen a replacement come through the door.

[web_stories_embed url=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/west-ham-newest-updates/” title=”West Ham newest updates!” poster=”” width=”360″ height=”600″ align=”none”]

The Scotsman has had to make do with Michail Antonio as his only senior Premier League striking option, but with the summer transfer window looming, it could be time to finally end the long wait for a new centre-forward.

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has been heavily linked recently, among others, with a claim surfacing before the New Year that Lille’s sensational talisman David is actually ‘likes’ West Ham (Calciomercato).

The Latest: West Ham bid ‘likely’…

Genuardi, speaking to But Football Club, now has an update which could turn the heads of Hammers supporters.

It is now believed that West Ham, and by extension Moyes, are ‘particularly likely to arrive with a big cheque’ this summer as they eye a major bid to sign David.

The Verdict: Get it done…

Former Leicester City forward Iain Hume, via Arash Madani, branded the 22-year-old ‘world class’ for his starring international performances and it’s safe to say he is a real one to watch.

His prolific Ligue 1 return of 13 in consecutive seasons is only part of the appeal, having amassed a quite simply unbelievable 20 goals in 30 appearances for Canada (Transfermarkt).

French football expert Adam White perhaps sums up David’s quality best, even likening him to former Liverpool star Luis Suarez, whilst claiming that an ‘elite striker’ is emerging in the player.

However, if West Ham are to get a deal done, it better be a big offer as the report claims he will not leave for less than €50 million (£42m).

Stats – Sri Lanka's opening record, and New Zealand's lower-order resistance

All the stats highlights from an eventful fourth day in Galle

S Rajesh17-Aug-2019133* – The partnership between Dimuth Karunaratne and Lahiru Thirimanne, which is Sri Lanka’s highest for the first wicket in the fourth innings of a Test. Karunaratne was involved in the previous highest as well – 124 with Kaushal Silva, against Pakistan in Dubai in 2014. Sri Lanka were chasing a target of 137 then, and won by nine wickets.ESPNcricinfo LtdThis is also the highest stand by any opening pair in the fourth innings of a Test in Sri Lanka. In fact, there has only been one other century stand in the fourth innings here – 110, between Chandika Hathurusingha and Roshan Mahanama against Australia in 1992.

127 – Karunaratne’s average in the fourth innings in Tests in Galle. In four innings, he has passed 50 three times, with scores of 60*, 97, 26 and 71*.118 – Balls faced by William Somerville in his unbeaten innings of 40. It is the second-longest innings, in terms of balls faced, by anyone batting at No. 9 or lower in the second innings of a Test match in Sri Lanka. The only instance of a batsman in the last three slots facing more balls was when Ajantha Mendis, at No. 10, played 157 balls in scoring 78 against India in Colombo in 2010. That makes Somerville’s effort the longest such innings by an overseas batsman in Sri Lanka.ESPNcricinfo Ltd40* – Somerville’s score, which is only two short of New Zealand’s best at positions 9 to 11 in Sri Lanka. The record thus stays with Ian Smith and Daniel Vettori, who both made 42.2 – Instances of all seven batsmen, from Nos. 5-11, making double-digit scores in the second innings of a Test match in Sri Lanka. The only previous occasion was way back in 1992, by Australia at the SSC in Colombo; in fact, all 11 batsmen made at least 10, which is the only such instance in the second innings in Sri Lanka. The lower-order runs turned out to be crucial on that occasion, as Australia ended up winning the Test by 16 runs.106 – Overs faced by New Zealand in their second innings. It is only the fourth time that a team has survived 100-plus overs in the third innings of a Test in Galle. The previous three instances were also by overseas teams: Australia played 152 overs in 2004, India 115.4 overs in 2010, and England 110.3 overs in 2001.

77 – BJ Watling’s score, the highest by a New Zealand wicketkeeper in Tests in Sri Lanka. The previous best was 67, by Adam Parore at the R Premadasa Stadium in 1998.4 – Kane Williamson’s aggregate in the Test; only once has he scored fewer runs when he has batted in both innings of a Test: against South Africa in Wellington in 2017, he made 2 and 1.1 – Instance of a team scoring more than 265 in the fourth innings of a Test in Galle: Pakistan scored 300 in 2012, but they were set an impossible target of 510, and thus lost by 209 runs.

Mid-season review: Rising Pune, soaring Mumbai, sinking RCB

ESPNcricinfo’s review of where the teams stand at the halfway stage of the IPL season, and what they must do moving forward to clinch a spot in the playoffs

Gaurav Sundararaman26-Apr-2017

Mumbai Indians – 1st (12 points)

Unlike the previous three seasons, Mumbai have started this season on a high, having won six of their first eight matches. They are sitting on top of the league and have identified their best XI fairly early – evident from the fact that they have made the fewest changes of all the teams. Mumbai have won their games mostly on the back of their Indian players – Rana and the Pandya brothers – with little dependence on overseas recruits.Impact PerformersNitish Rana– 266 runs at an average of 38.00 and two Man-of-the-Match awards.Kieron Pollard – 199 runs at an average of 28.42 while being part of match-winning partnerships against Lions and Royal Challengers.Area of ImprovementLasith Malinga’s form: 4 wickets and an economy rate of 10.93 – two of his worst T20 spells have come in his last two matchesPotential strategy changesBatting Order: Rohit Sharma to open, Jos Buttler to keep wicket, and Ambati Rayudu to replace Parthiv PatelOn a pacy Kolkata surface, Sunil Narine has played a huge role with the bat, if not with the ball•BCCI

Kolkata Knight Riders – 2nd (10 points)

Similar to Mumbai, Knight Riders have started well, winning five out of their first seven games. They have managed to cover up Andre Russell’s absence with a new strategy of playing aggressive cricket in the Powerplay through Chris Lynn or, in his absence, Sunil Narine. Knight Riders have the best run rate in the Powerplay (10.16) this season and most of their wins have come courtesy tight bowling performances. It therefore makes sense that three of their bowlers have clinched Man-of-the-Match awards.Impact PerformersChris Lynn and Sunil Narine as openers – 244 runs at a strike-rate of 193.6.Nathan Coulter-Nile – 8 wickets from three gamesArea of ImprovementBatting at the death: The absence of a finisher could pose a challenge in the business end of the tournament. At the moment Knight Riders have the lowest run rate between overs 16 and 20, at 8.78.Potential strategy changesRole of the finisher: Firm up the role of the finisher with either Colin de Grandhomme or Rovman Powell (who has not yet played a game).Rashid Khan’s googlies lit up the tournament’s start•BCCI

Sunrisers Hyderabad – 3rd (8 points)

Sunrisers have had a slightly inconsistent season so far with four wins from seven matches. They have won all their home games but don’t have a single away win yet. With one of the best bowling units in the competition, Sunrisers are on track to make it to the top four. Their wins have largely been set up by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan.Impact PerformersBhuvneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan– together they have picked up 60% of the team’s wickets and have conceded less than seven runs an over.Area of ImprovementMiddle-Order batting: Last season, David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan scored more than 60% of the team’s runs. Sunrisers need to avoid this dependence on their openers and ensure the middle and lower order perform consistently. Sunrisers have already taken a step towards that by playing Kane Williamson in their last two games.Potential strategy changesIdentify a fixed bowling combination: Sunrisers are spoilt for choice with their pace-bowling options. It is important that they identify the right bowling combination to use in most of their games as the tournament progresses, reducing the dependence on Bhuvneshwar and Rashid. As the tournament has progressed, Ben Stokes’ impact for Rising Pune has grown with both bat and ball•BCCI

Rising Pune Supergiant – 4th (8 points)

Rising Pune’s performance so far has been a surprise. Barring Imran Tahir, they possess an inexperienced bowling line-up. That being said, they have managed to string three wins against more fancied teams, which will augur well for them leading up to the second half of the tournament. Their marquee players Steven Smith, MS Dhoni and Ben Stokes have all won games with quality individual performances.Impact PerformersImran Tahir – 10 wickets at 8 runs per over. He has been instrumental in containing the batsmen in the middle overs where Rising Pune hold the best record among all teams (7.15 runs per over).Ben Stokes – Began the tournament poorly but has collected two Man-of-the-Match awards for his bowling efforts. With six wickets and 127 runs, Stokes would be looking to finish the tournament on a high.Area of ImprovementDeath Bowling: If Rising Pune wish to go all the way, they will have to ensure their bowling does not continue leaking runs at the death. They are the second-worst team in the last five overs this season, conceding 11.56 an over.Potential strategy changesBat Manoj Tiwary higher and fix their bowling combination: Tiwary has been in good form so far and has played some useful knocks this season. He has the best strike-rate (167.07) for Rising Pune but has faced only 82 balls. They also need to identify their best bowling combination, having played 13 bowlers so far in the tournament.Hashim Amla’s batting for Kings XI has had class written all over it•AFP

Kings XI Punjab – 5th (6 points)

Like the past two seasons, Kings XI have not ended their first half on a high. They have three wins from seven matches and are yet to get their combination right. They have made changes in almost every game and have been poor with the ball. Punjab may lose the services of Eoin Morgan, David Miller and Amla over the course of the next two weeks and would be eyeing a strong finish to the season in a bid to qualify for the playoffs.Impact PerformersHashim Amla – Has scored 299 runs at an average of 59.80 and a strike rate of 145.85. He is the top run-getter for Kings XI this season and has helped them make good starts in the Powerplay.Area of ImprovementDeath Bowling: If Kings XI have to beat the in-form teams they will have to ensure their bowling does not continue leaking runs at the death. They have been the worst team in the death, conceding 11.62 an over and picking up only eight wickets.Potential strategy changesGlenn Maxwell could look to open once Amla leaves. Kings XI, meanwhile, could play T Natarajan regularly: Natarajan has played only three games so far and not bowled four overs in a game yet. Picked as a specialist death bowler, he has bowled only one over in that phase so far. Currently, he has the best economy rate among all Kings XI’s pace bowlers.RCB’s openers hold the key as they look to do the improbable – win all their remaining games to be assured of qualification•BCCI

Royal Challengers Bangalore – 6th (5 points)

AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli have played together in only three out of seven games. They have shown glimpses of their potential in two games but haven’t been consistent. After their humiliating loss against Knight Riders and the washout against Sunrisers, it will be very difficult for Royal Challengers to come back this season. They need to win all their remaining games to have a chance of making the playoffs, and without de Villiers towards the end, it will take a number of individual performances for Royal Challengers to qualify.Impact PerformersYuzvendra Chahal – 10 wickets at 6.76. He has been Royal Challengers’ best bowler, bowling in tough periods and picking up important wickets.Area of ImprovementPowerplay batting: Royal Challengers have been very poor in the Powerplay overs, scoring 6.78 runs per over while other teams score at more than 9 per over. Chris Gayle has a dot-ball percentage of 60 in this phase, which is the highest for any opener this season.Potential strategy changesRoyal Challengers could look to replace Gayle with Travis Head or Shane Watson to help the team get faster startsRishabh Pant has been a revelation for Delhi Daredevils this season•BCCI

Delhi Daredevils – 7th (4 points)

Daredevils have arguably the best bowling combination in the tournament, which is evident from their numbers as well. Their bowling unit has the best economy rate as well as the best average this season. However, their inexperienced batting and poor decisions with batting positions have caused some close matches to slip from their grasp. They are most likely to lose the maximum number of players (Sam Billings, Chris Morris and Kagiso Rabada) to national duty in the coming weeks and it is vital they gain momentum with some key wins at home.Impact PerformersChris Morris – He has 126 runs at an average of 42 and a Strike rate of 175. He has also picked up 12 wickets at 6.90.Area of ImprovementBatting Order: Delhi need to figure out their best batting order as soon as possible. With an inexperienced batting line-up it is important they get the best players to face the most deliveries.Potential strategy changesShreyas Iyer to open and Ankit Bawne to replace Karun Nair – Bawne comes to the Daredevils squad after strong performances in the domestic T20 tournament while Nair has undergone a prolonged run of poor form. Iyer has been impressive in his limited outings.Basil Thampi’s pace has been impressive but Gujarat’s lack of wicket-taking bowlers have hurt them•BCCI

Gujarat Lions – 8th (4 points)

Lions started the season with a beefed-up batting unit and were dependent on allrounder Dwayne Bravo to provide balance. However, Bravo’s absence has meant bowling at the death was always going to be a challenge. Lions have been dependent on their domestic Indian bowlers who have had an average outing, and have leaked runs at the death. Like Kings XI, they are yet to find their best combination. They have two wins from seven games, and need to win six more to be assured of playoff qualification.Impact PerformersBrendon McCullum – He has 264 runs at 37.71 with two fifties and has helped Gujarat get off to good starts.Area of ImprovementBatting Order: The presence of four high-quality overseas T20 openers in the squad has proved a challenge for the franchise. Two of them have had to play out of position and have not been the force they were expected to be. Gujarat have swapped the batting order many times but have still not found a stable combination.Potential strategy changesDwayne Smith and McCullum to open, and Dinesh Karthik to bat at No. 4: Karthik has come off a superb domestic T20 season but is not facing enough deliveries. He could be used ahead of Aaron Finch at No. 4 and Lions could use James Faulkner as their fourth overseas player instead.
