Três anos no rival Vasco e quatro no Spartak Moscou, todos em alto nível. Rômulo chegou ao Flamengo em janeiro de 2017 sob muita expectativa, sobretudo pela torcida acreditar que o volante faria com que o criticado Márcio Araújo fosse preterido para a Libertadores passada. Não rolou, e Rômulo passou a ser escanteado aos poucos.

Agora, mais de um ano e meio depois no Ninho do Urubu, Rômulo volta a ser a bola da vez. Com a suspensão de Cuéllar e a venda de Jonas, é a opção mais previsível do técnico Maurício Barbieri para o retorno do Campeonato Brasileiro, no qual o Flamengo, líder, receberá o São Paulo na próxima quarta-feira. Deve ser a sua volta à titularidade após quase cinco meses.

O jogo em questão foi o clássico diante do Fluminense, em fevereiro, cujo o Flamengo, então comandado por Paulo César Carpegiani, saiu goleado por 4 a 0, mas apenas com reservas em campos e titulares poupados. Rômulo levou cartão amarelo e saiu no intervalo, ainda mostrando um abismo em relação ao que já apresentara em sua carreira.

No pontapé inicial do Carioca, Rômulo foi escolhido por Carpegiani para ser o capitão de um time composto por diversos garotos do sub-20. Chegou a ser capitão, mas também não correspondeu e, ao longo da competição, perdeu o posto de reserva imediato de Cuéllar para Jonas – novo reforço do Al-Ittihad (SAU) e que havia retornado de empréstimo e não estava integralmente nos planos inaugurais.

Ao todo, são 33 jogos neste período, com um gol (pela Libertadores-2017, contra o San Lorenzo), sendo apenas 16 como titular. Nada como um teste diante do São Paulo, em duelo pela liderança do Brasileirão, para mostrar que Rômulo, que vem treinando entre os 11 ultimamente, pode revigorar sua trajetória no Rubro-Negro e se tornar útil para o restante da temporada, algo que Willian Arão, outro bastante perseguido pela torcida, tem realizado nos últimos jogos.

O Flamengo contratou Rômulo a custo zero, pois o mesmo havia acabado de rescindir com o Spartak. Assinou um contrato de quatro temporadas A chegada criou uma perspectiva tão positiva que o própria atleta, em sua mensagem de agradecimento pelo acordo, à época, citou a Seleção Brasileira como escopo.

– Venho agradecer ao Flamengo pelo esforço empreendido para contar comigo em seu elenco nas próximas quatro temporadas. Obrigado mais uma vez ao torcedor que desde as primeiras sondagens já abraçou meu nome. A melhor forma de respeitar a minha história é dar o melhor de mim no presente, e é isso que posso prometer aos milhões de torcedores rubro-negros, um Rômulo muito motivado com essa repatriação, com vontade de brigar por títulos e voltar à nossa Seleção, sobretudo, ciente da responsabilidade de vestir a camisa desse tão grande clube – comentou.

E Rômulo esteve muito próximo de deixar o Fla. Apontado como um dos membros de uma possível barca desde janeiro deste ano, o volante por pouco não parou no Internacional – um antigo interessado – em abril. Uma troca com o lateral-esquerdo Uendel chegou a ser cogitada, porém, ao menos por enquanto, o negócio com os gaúchos emperrou.

Ao que tudo indica, Rômulo terá mais uma ótima oportunidade para mostrar serviço e, quem sabe, fazer jus à multa rescisória de R$ 8 milhões, até para ele valorizar-se em caso de uma saída no fim do ano, definitiva ou não.

WAPDA were left with 55 to chase and, though they lost an early wicket, got there in 8.5 overs. The win keeps WAPDA at the top of the table with five wins from six games.

State Bank of Pakistan made it four wins from six games by beating Rawalpindi by 93 runs at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Rawalpindi had started the day in trouble, on 37 for 2 chasing 333. That soon became 75 for 4, but the middle order offered some resistance. Usman Saeed scored 48 and Adnan Mufti got 65 but State Bank were always favourites. Seamer Rizwan Haider took 3 for 58 and all the other bowlers chipped in as State Bank bowled Rawalpindi out for 239.

National Bank of Pakistan beat Karachi Blues by nine wickets at the National Stadium in Karachi, with Nasir Jamshed smashing 50 off 32 balls to help them chase 97 in just 9.4 overs. Karachi needed to bat out the day to salvage a draw from the game but despite a century from Khalid Latif they could only bat out 67.1 overs and reach 318, leaving National Bank 97 to win. National Bank went for the runs and Jamshed got them off to a flier in the company of Khurram Manzoor. Once Manzoor fell, with the score 41, Kamran Akmal came in and smashed three fours and a six in his 29 off 18 balls, and took National Bank home along with Jamshed.Karachi had set a solid base for a big second-innings score, reaching 90 for 1 by stumps on the third day. They continued to look solid on the fourth day, with Shahzaib Hasan going from 52 not out to 83 and Latif settling down for a big knock. The middle order did not contribute much though, leaving Latif to bat with the tail. He managed to get 114 off 127 balls but it was not enough to take Karachi to safety. National Bank’s bowlers shared the wickets around with left-arm spinner Qaiser Abbas taking 3 for 39.

A late collapse meant Sialkot conceded a 98-run first-innings lead and Pakistan International Airlines took three points out of the match at the Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot. Sialkot started the day on 299 for 4, trying to overhaul PIA’s 505. Naved Sarwar and Mansoor Amjad added another 97 to take Sialkot to 396 for 4. Sarwar scored slowly, taking a total of 358 balls for his 82 while Amjad got 72 off 129. Once their stand was broken, though, a collapse began. Sialkot lost six wickets for 11 runs and were bowled out for 407. Seamer Anwar Ali ran through the tail and finished with 7 for 109. PIA then had a bit of batting practice and reached 153 for 3 with Agha Sabir and Fahad Iqbal scoring half-centuries.

Naseer Akram’s second five-wicket haul in as many games helped Faisalabad register their first win of the season as they beat Habib Bank Limited by 139 runs at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. HBL started the fourth day on 33 for 0 chasing 326, and suffered a middle-order collapse that saw six wickets fall for 62 runs. Nos. 3 to 7 could only manage single digit scores to leave them 128 for 7, Naseer having done most of the damage. Danish Kaneria offered some lower-order resistance with his 30 but HBL were bowled out for 186.

O mineiro de 43 anos, que apitou a Copa do Mundo da Rússia no último mês, disse que tinha a expectativa para comandar a final do Mundial para coroar a carreira:

– A expectativa de fazer a final da Copa do Mundo era grande. Mas eles têm um critério de escolha e temos que respeitar. Foi uma pena porque eu queria coroar. Mas não foi possível e infelizmente vou encerrar minha carreira sem esse título. – disse Ricci.

No Brasil, o árbitro de 43 anos foi pivô de várias polêmicas de arbitragem. A dramatic semi-final with many twists and turns ended just an hour after lunch on the third day with Puneet Yadav taking a catch at deep point to dismiss Mohit Sharma off Rituraj Singh, to end the rapid but brief tenth-wicket partnership.Rituraj Singh, in only his third first-class game, was the highest wicket-taker for Rajasthan in the innings 5 for 37; his match tally stood at 12 for 82.A clutter of five wickets in the first session had as good as sealed it for Rajasthan, with Sachin Rana’s dismissal just before lunch marking the moment in the game (the scoreboard read 88 for 7 then) when the defending champions knew they had done enough to enter the final.The day had begun with optimism from Haryana – the sun was at its brightest and the pitch at its most benevolent over the course of the game. Yet Rajasthan’s bowlers ensured that they held the first session in their fist.Rituraj, an MRF camper from Jaipur who can bowl accurate medium pace and swings the ball, is playing in only the third match of his debut season. Mishra departed four overs later, after his looping mistimed upper cut off Pankaj Singh was caught by Robin Bist at point.Haryana’s last three batsmen were caught at point, the lower orders trying to carve their way out of an awful predicament. Unyielding Rajasthan would have none of it.

O número final chama a atenção, já que o clube recebeu um total de R$ 68,1 milhões em vendas de jogadores nos primeiros meses do ano. No valor recebido pela venda dos atletas, ainda não estão contabilizadas as saídas de Rodriguinho e Balbuena. Juntos, os dois renderão mais de R$ 30 milhões aos cofres alvinegros, fazendo com que o panorama melhore.

De acordo com o presidente Andrés Sanchez, mesmo assim, o Timão não precisa se desfazer de seus atletas para melhorar sua saúde financeira.

– Não estávamos vendendo para fazer caixa. Tomara Deus que a gente não venda mais ninguém, até porque não está nada desesperador. ويتواصل اتحاد الكرة مع الجهات المعنية من أجل تحديد أسعار مناسبة للتذاكر، وذلك لتشجيع الجماهير على حضور مباريات كأس أمم إفريقيا للشباب.

O dono do melhor ataque contra a terceira defesa menos vazada do Campeonato Brasileiro. Atlético-MG e Internacional fazem duelo de seis pontos, nesta segunda-feira, às 20h, no Independência, pela 17ª rodada da competição. Os mineiros estão na quarta posição, com 27 pontos. Os gaúchos, na terceira colocação, com 29 somados. Se o Galo garantir os três pontos, ultrapassa. Caso contrário, o Colorado se aproxima de São Paulo e Flamengo.
