– “assistir em casa”;

– “assistir sozinho”;

– “oração antes da partida”;

– “volume da televisão no mesmo número de um título do Flamengo”;

Confira!

"Sealed and signed" – Man Utd agree $1m deal and personal terms with 17 y/o

Manchester United is a club currently surrounded by question marks. Almost a year of poor performances in the Premier League under Ruben Amorim has led to speculation about his job security and Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS’s capability to turn the club around.

Amorim is yet to record back-to-back wins in the Premier League, and with fixtures like Liverpool and Tottenham coming up, it seems unlikely that he will win two in a row before the next international break.

While their managerial recruitment is in question, the new minority owners’ on-field recruitment has been a source of praise. In the senior team, players like Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha have added a spark to United’s attack that hasn’t been seen in recent years, and youngsters like Sekou Kone and of course the more experienced Amad Diallo give fans hope for the future.

Despite the transfer window not being open for several months, United are looking to continue their impressive recent recruitment and have already agreed a deal to bring in their next young talent.

United agree deal for Orozco

Earlier in the week, it was revealed that Manchester United were putting in early plans to bring in “very technical” 17-year-old Colombian midfielder Cristian Orozco. On Thursday morning, Fabrizio Romano revealed that contracts have been “sealed and signed”, and he concluded his X post with his “here we go” confirmation.

“Manchester United have now sealed and signed deal to bring in 17 year old Colombian talent Cristian Orozco,” the journalist said. “$1m transfer fee from Fortaleza in deal valid from summer 2026. MUFC lawyers approved all the contracts, deal coordinated by lead scout Antonaccio. Here we go.”

The Colombian League runs on a different schedule to the Premier League, played from January to December. This means that Orozco will leave halfway through their 2026 campaign to join United ahead of the Premier League’s 2026/27 season.

The defensive midfielder has impressed in both his club and National Youth setups. His first Colombia under-17 appearance came in January, and he has represented the side on nine occasions since then. This move is still a gamble for United as the youngster still hasn’t made his senior debut for Fortaleza, but their willingness to take the risk with Orozco is down to their faith in a United figure whose recent recruitment has been impressive.

INEOS putting faith in South America scouts

In his post, Romano specifically highlighted United lead scout Giuseppe Antonaccio as a crucial player in the deal. Antonaccio has been at the club since 2016 and focuses on scouting the South American market.

And his importance in recruiting young talent seems to be increasing. Along with the Orozco deal, he was also cited as being an important figure in bringing in United’s newest left back, Diego Leon. Leon has already made an impression at United and was kept with the first team despite initial plans to loan him out.

United have a history of being linked with talented youngsters from South America, but they have missed some major opportunities in recent years. The most notable of these was Moises Caicedo, who they reportedly could have signed for £5 million. Caicedo was eventually signed by Brighton and later moved to Chelsea for a then British transfer record of £115 million.

While it’s unlikely that Orozco, Leon or any other young talent they look to sign will surpass the £100 million mark, they could still provide some major benefits for the club. If they develop well, they could turn into important first-team players, and if we don’t hit the standards that United want, then their cheap price will make it easy for the club to sell them on for a profit at a time when they desperately need cash.

Middlesex stumble to 143 in second innings before Handscomb seals chase against old side

Three wickets apiece for seamers Logan van Beek and Ben Green set up Leicestershire’s first red-ball victory at Lord’s in 45 years, flattening Middlesex to strengthen their position as Rothesay County Championship Division Two front-runners.Van Beek took 3 for 28 – including two wickets in as many balls – while Green’s 3 for 32 also played a pivotal role in ensuring the home side were dismissed for 143 in their second innings.Middlesex collapsed after Sam Robson and Max Holden’s opening stand of 51, losing six wickets for 34 despite Luke Hollman’s defiant knock of 42. That left the Foxes hunting a modest victory target of 102 and they got there with three wickets down, skipper Peter Handscomb hitting the winning runs off Hollman to secure his side’s fourth win in six games.Van Beek’s initial spell in the morning was on the costly side, with Robson picking him off three times to the short leg-side fence as he and Holden wiped out their 32-run overnight deficit without loss. But changes of bowling at both ends brought Leicestershire success, with Robson pinned in front by a Green delivery that seamed back at him, although Tom Scriven’s successful lbw shout against Holden might have been missing leg stump.Hollman began his innings brightly, crunching Green through the covers for four, but Middlesex soon became bogged down and their lack of runs eventually gave way to a clatter of wickets.Despite avoiding a pair, Leus du Plooy never looked entirely comfortable and was trapped leg before as van Beek got one to straighten before Ryan Higgins flashed hard at the next and Handscomb clung on at second slip.Middlesex struggled through to lunch at 79 for 4, but their prospects continued to deteriorate after the interval as Ian Holland drew Ben Geddes into an edge to slip and van Beek bamboozled Jack Davies with a ball that took out his off stump.Hollman’s boundary off van Beek was the first in well over an hour of play, but Zafar Gohar quickly added another, thumping Josh Hull to the rope beyond mid-off to lift his side’s total into three figures. The seventh-wicket pair ground out a dogged partnership of 40 before Green returned to dismiss both Gohar and then Hollman in identical fashion, jagging the ball back to hit the top of middle and off. A brisk undefeated 16 from Toby Roland-Jones hauled Middlesex’s slender lead just above 100 before legspinner Rehan Ahmed mopped up the tail with two wickets from successive deliveries.Sol Budinger launched Leicestershire’s pursuit with gusto, clubbing Dane Paterson for two boundaries in a quickfire 25 before dragging onto his leg stump, while Holden’s well-judged catch over his shoulder as he ran back from cover accounted for Rishi Patel.Rehan also departed, caught behind off Middlesex’s teenage debutant Naavya Sharma, but it was not enough to derail the Foxes as Handscomb and Lewis Hill steered them across the line.

Berta eyes £26m sensation compared to Julian Alvarez after Arsenal talks held

Arsenal have a squad packed with quality, but Andrea Berta could look to add another attacking starlet to their ranks.

Mikel Arteta holds private conversation with Arsenal's Viktor Gyokeres

Viktor Gyokeres is a man in the spotlight after his big-money move to North London in the summer, and he’s got off to a mixed start so far.

The Swede extended his goalless run to seven games after failing to find the net again during Arsenal’s vital 1-0 win over Fulham on Saturday, with Kai Havertz racing to be back fit and impressing Arsenal staff in rehab.

Once Havertz returns to the fold, Mikel Arteta could even turn to the ex-Chelsea star in place of Gyokeres — if the latter’s barren streak continues.

Arsenal have even been tipped to replace Gyokeres with Havertz for the big games by critics, but Arteta has moved to ease early concern about the 27-year-old.

Arteta has detailed private conversations with the Sweden international and has full faith in his ability to deliver big moments, claiming that going matches without scoring as a Premier League striker is simply inevitable.

He stated: “I told him before the first meeting, the nine that I want is a nine that when he doesn’t score for six or eight games, he can handle that. If not, you have to go somewhere else because the pressure is gone, the expectation is going to be there. So if you put a number nine shirt for Arsenal, you have to be able to say, OK, six games, don’t score.”

Unfortunately, he won’t be able to rely on the service of playmaker Martin Odegaard, who has been ruled out for a while due to a knee injury, leaving Arteta to call on the likes of Eberechi Eze, Declan Rice and potentially Ethan Nwaneri to fill the void.

Either way, the January window could be intriguing, as the Gunners aim to maintain their title challenge.

Indeed, they’re apparently in the mix for a South American jewel, amid reports of interest in a new left-winger.

Arsenal eye Ian Subiabre after holding talks

According to TBR, Arsenal are eyeing River Plate’s Ian Subiabre, who is also on the radar of Man City, Liverpool, Brighton, Fulham and Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Arteta’s side apparently held talks with the 19-year-old’s camp earlier this year, as per this report, and this interest has remained as Andrea Berta eyes a 2026 move.

Interest from abroad is also present from Atlético Madrid, Juventus, Monaco and RB Leipzig, and there is a belief that he may opt for a River Plate exit to continue his development in different surroundings.

Imagine him & Dowman: Arsenal have Rice 2.0 brewing in Hale End sensation

The talented youngster could be another Declan Rice-type player for Arsenal.

ByJack Salveson Holmes Oct 17, 2025

Known to model his game on Atlético Madrid star Julian Alvarez, Subiabre has made 19 appearances across all competitions for River Plate since breaking through the ranks, registering a solitary goal and an assist.

Some of his most notable displays have come in Argentina’s run to the Under-20 World Cup final, where he scored twice in six matches against Brazil and Colombia.

Scouts from around the world will be keeping a keen eye, and Subiabre’s name is one to watch amid a string of excellent performances across the Atlantic, with Berta hoping to tempt him to the Emirates Stadium.

The teenager’s contract, which includes a £26 million release clause, expires in 2026, and he’s also been directly compared to his idol Alvarez.

While Arsenal potentially anticipate the winger going on a similar trajectory to Man City’s former sensation, Transfermarkt data scout Mathias Ledesma has revealed his best qualities.

Injured Nortje out of action, recovery timelines unknown

“Naturally we are worried. In Anrich’s case this is the second or third stress reaction in his back,” coach Shuki Conrad said

Firdose Moonda26-Jun-2025

Anrich Nortje last played international cricket at the T20 World Cup in 2024•SA 20

South Africa fast bowler Anrich Nortje has suffered a “stress reaction” that will keep him out of action for an unknown period of time. Nortje was not considered for South Africa’s T20I squad to play a tri-series in Zimbabwe next month and did not travel to MLC 2025, where he was due to play for Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR). Nortje has only played two games this year, at the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).South Africa coach Shukri Conrad confirmed that Nortje’s injury will be assessed and as things stand, CSA is unaware of how long he will be out of action for.The injury is the latest in a long line of setbacks for Nortje, who is no longer centrally contracted with CSA and last played international cricket at the T20 World Cup in 2024. He was then not considered for the Test side for focusing primarily on T20s by opting out of the central contract. But a fractured toe then ruled him out of the home T20Is against Pakistan before a back injury sidelined him from the 2025 Champions Trophy. He then flew to India for the IPL to join KKR but played only two games for them.Related

Nortje injured again, Van der Dussen to lead newish-looking South Africa T20I side

Nortje has spent significant time on the sidelines in the past. He did not play any cricket between November 2013 and November 2015, November 2018 and February 2019 and then between November 2021 and April 2022 with a range of injuries relating to his back and hip.It is not known yet which formats Nortje will avail himself for when he returns to fitness.”We will have to see the length of the time that he will be out and the extent of the injury. I really feel for him,” Conrad said. “He is a superstar fast bowler and having to deal with setback after setback can’t be easy. We will wait to see how serious it is.”Naturally we are worried. In Anrich’s case this is the second or third stress reaction in his back. It is too early to make a diagnosis and we are definitely not drawing a line through this name. He is 31 years old and we are going to give him every chance to come back. We will have to see what the medical team think is the best way forward.”

Not Okafor: Leeds' “outstanding” star is now looking like Pablo Hernandez

Leeds United fans have been blessed with some outrageous attackers to cheer on over recent years.

The obvious names that immediately spring to mind here are the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter, and Raphinha, but Pablo Hernandez is also deserving of equal levels of adoration from the Elland Road masses for the magic he regularly conjured up during his time in West Yorkshire.

Hernandez would notch up a stunning 36 goals and 39 assists for the Whites in the Championship during Marcelo Bielsa’s heyday at the helm, with the much-loved Leeds boss even going out of his way to laud his Spanish playmaker as a “silent leader” who can “harm the opponent” at a moment’s notice.

Unfortunately, though, the silky attacking midfielder would only go on to collect a measly two assists for the West Yorkshire titans in the Premier League.

Noah Okafor has already matched that same amount of goal contributions for the newly promoted Whites in the here and now, as the electric Swiss international attempts to go down in his new club’s history books as a similarly entertaining spark.

Okafor's promising Leeds start

Much like Hernandez, too, Okafor has already been showered with plenty of lavish praise when pulling on Leeds white.

Leeds-based content creator Oscar Mario has dubbed the ex-AC Milan attacker as a “difference-maker” for Farke’s side, with the two goals that he’s already confidently put away this season, undoubtedly placing him in the same bracket as the captivating Spaniard before him.

With Okafor also constantly looking to bomb forward with pace to carve out an opening – as seen in him ridiculously completing six successful dribbles versus Wolverhampton Wanderers – it’s very clear that he could go on to be a fan favourite in the same ilk as Hernandez, only this time, with the talent to be a success in the top-flight.

Yet, with no assists next to his name as of the time of writing, he hasn’t quite hit the same creative peak as the former Leeds number 19 just yet, with an unexpected creative force elsewhere in Farke’s camp perhaps more in line to be viewed as a Hernandez-type talent, with the star in question boasting league-best numbers in this regard.

The Leeds star showing shades of Hernandez

While Hernandez was known for firing home an audacious strike or two during his five-season stint in England, he is definitely more commonly remembered as an ace who could “change the course of a game” with an “exceptional” assist, as former Leeds player Noel Whelan once put it.

His 2018/19 offering in the second tier for Bielsa’s Whites saw the quick-witted midfielder create a mammoth 16 big chances in total, with Sean Longstaff potentially heading towards the same jaw-dropping numbers in the Premier League for Farke’s men this campaign, if his early scintillating form in the tough division is anything to go by.

Indeed, Longstaff has looked a man reborn since leaving boyhood employers Newcastle United behind this summer for a modest £12m, with five big chances already created by Leeds’ new star man, putting him at the very top of the list of the Premier League’s most effective playmakers.

If he can keep this unbelievable run of form going, he could give Hernandez’s Championship peak a run for its money.

The “outstanding” number eight – as Farke has also already lovingly labelled him – further has the necessary bite in his game to be a long-term success at the very pinnacle of English football, with tackles and duels also won aplenty this season, when looking at the table above, away from just offering up an incisive pass.

Ultimately, Farke will just want all of his troops to come together and battle hard to ensure relegation is staved off.

But, with Longstaff in the same conversations as Bruno Fernandes in what he offers going forward, he will hope his unbelievable start in West Yorkshire can be kept up, as he strives to be the driving force that pushes his new side way away from the relegation zone come next May.
