The summer transfer window officially slams shut on Friday of next week and this means that Leeds United do not have much time left to complete their business.

Georginio Rutter's permanent transfer to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion was officially confirmed on Monday night, with the Frenchman becoming the latest star to move away from Elland Road in recent months.

Glen Kamara, who signed for Rennes, Archie Gray, who joined Tottenham Hotspur, and Crysencio Summerville, who moved to West Ham United, have also left the club this summer.

Meanwhile, the West Yorkshire outfit have dipped into the transfer market to land Alex Cairns, Joe Rothwell, Jayden Bogle, and Joe Rodon to bolster Daniel Farke's squad.

This means that the Whites are yet to add an attacking midfielder, winger, or striker to the group, despite losing Summerville and Rutter from the team.

However, there are still around ten days left to go before the window slams shut and there is some time left for Leeds to pursue deals for attackers to improve Farke's attacking options ahead of the rest of the 2024/25 campaign.

In fact, the Yorkshire-based outfit are reportedly eyeing up a winger from the Championship to come in and replace Summerville this month.

Leeds eyeing swoop for EFL sensation

According to Football Insider, Leeds are targeting a late swoop to bring former academy graduate Jack Clarke back to Elland Road from divisional rivals Sunderland.

The report claims that the English wizard, who was described as "unplayable" by pundit Adrian Clarke, is one of the players the club have identified as a target to come in and bolster their wide options before the deadline passes.

It states that the Whites have decided that they will sign a winger and a striker before the end of the window, following the departures of Rutter and Summerville.

The Boot Room reports that Leeds are interested in signing Clarke and goes as far as to say that the Black Cats whiz is open to returning to his former club.

It added, though, that there are a number of teams keen on the electric forward and it will not be an easy deal for Farke's side to get over the line.

The outlet also revealed that it will take a fee of around £18m to tempt Sunderland into parting ways with their star player and it remains to be seen whether or not the Whites are prepared to spend that much on a signing this summer.

If they do splash the cash and swoop to sign Clarke for £18m, the Black Cats magician could come in as a dream partner for Mateo Joseph in the final third.

Mateo Joseph's attacking potential

Leeds supporters saw first-hand how willing Farke is to give young players a chance to showcase their ability, as Gray was handed a regular role in the team and earned the Championship Young Player of the Year award.

Joseph looks set to be the latest talented prospect to get the Gray treatment from the German head coach. He started the first two games of the league season, having come into the campaign with zero senior league starts in his career.

The Spain U21 international is yet to get off the mark this term but did create a 'big chance' for his teammates, which they failed to make the most of.

He has been handed an opportunity after an impressive summer, in which the youngster scored four goals during pre-season, with two strikes against Hannover, one against Schalke, and one against Valencia.

Last season, all 20 of his appearances in the Championship came as a substitute but he did get a chance to impress as a starter against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup.

As you can see in the table above, Joseph found the back of the net twice against the Premier League side and created two chances for his teammates, which shows that he can make a big impact when given time and service.

The Spanish striker, who scored 19 goals in 33 games for the club at U21 level, did not have Rutter to provide him with service against West Brom on Saturday, and the signing of Clarke could provide him with a player who can create chances for him.

Why Leeds should sign Jack Clarke

Firstly, the 23-year-old gem came up through the ranks at Thorp Arch and may not take much time to settle in, as he has lived in the area and will already know people around the club.

This could allow him to hit the ground running in a way that a signing with no prior experience in the area or at the club may not be able to do this summer.

Secondly, he is a proven Championship performer who has the quality to make a huge impact at the top end of the pitch, based on his form for Sunderland in recent seasons.

Spurs preparing bid for Brazilian ace

According to reports in Brazil, Levy is readying a Spurs bid to sign right-back Vanderson from AS Monaco before the end of the month.

The reporter claims that the Premier League side are prepared to offer €32m (£27m) as an initial fee for the Brazilian defender, along with add-ons and bonuses to take it beyond that.

This shows that the Lilywhites are serious about a swoop for the former Gremio whiz, as they are willing to pay a significant sum of money to add him to their squad.

Andrade does not reveal whether or not that will be enough to tempt the Ligue 1 outfit into cashing in on the full-back, but adds that the two clubs are in ongoing talks over a potential deal for the 23-year-old star.

It had previously been reported that Spurs are looking at Vanderson as a replacement for Emerson Royal, who recently completed a permanent move to AC Milan.

Emerson's exit from the club has left Pedro Porro as Postecoglou's only senior option at right-back, which is why a move for the Monaco defender does make a lot of sense this month.

If Tottenham can get a deal for Vanderson over the line before the end of the window then he could be a dream addition to play behind Odobert, who has just signed from Burnley.

What Wilson Odobert could bring to Spurs

Firstly, it is worth remembering that the French talent is only 19 and it would be unfair to expect great things from him in his first season at the club.

He only has 29 games of Premier League experience under his belt for Burnley and will need time to continue to adjust to the league and to first-team football.

However, despite his age and inexperience, Odobert is an exciting player who could still produce moments of quality in a Spurs shirt when given an opportunity to perform this season.

Why Vanderson would be perfect for Odobert

To understand why the Brazilian would be an ideal partner for the Frenchmen, it is first worth noting that the former Burnley man is not the strongest out of possession.

Odobert lost 55% of his duels in the Premier League last season and ranked within the bottom 18% or lower of his positional peers for clearances, aerial battles won, tackles, and interceptions per 90 respectively.

This suggests that Spurs would, before the winger develops and improves that side of his game, need a defensively strong full-back behind him to make up for the youngster's lack of defensive awareness.

Vanderson's form in Ligue 1 for Monaco last season suggests that he would be the perfect player to support Odobert down the flank, due to his ability to compete in and win duels.

The Brazilian defender did not provide a huge attacking threat, with three goals and one assist, in his 20 Ligue 1 outings last term, but did showcase his defensive quality with a whopping 4.8 tackles and interceptions combined per match.

Os problemas começaram depois que a comercialização foi iniciada ao público em geral, às 11h, e o serviço da plataforma só voltou a ser normalizado por volta das 17h.

– Na sexta-feira, quando ocorreu a abertura da venda para o público geral, devido à enorme quantidade de ingressos vendidos por minuto – números comparáveis apenas a grandes decisões –, houve um enfileiramento dos acessos, provocando instabilidade para muitos usuários que buscavam seus ingressos, mas a efetivação das vendas continuou sem interrupções, dentro da capacidade máxima de processamento suportada pelo sistema, durante todo o tempo – explicou o Corinthians, por meio da nota oficial deste sábado,

– Vale lembrar que cada venda só é efetivada após a confirmação do meio de pagamento utilizado. Até lá, o ingresso fica reservado, e só volta a ser disponibilizado após eventual recusa do pagamento – o que ocorre com certa frequência e limita a agilidade do processo – esclareceu em seguida.

Daniel Farke was able to dip into the market, though, to sign Largie Ramazani, Joe Rothwell, Alex Cairns, Joe Rodon, Jayden Bogle, Ao Tanaka, Isaac Schmidt, and Manor Solomon to bolster his options across the pitch.

The German head coach also made an addition to the team without making a new signing by bringing Brenden Aaronson back into the group, after his spell out on loan, and has struck gold with the USA international.

Jesse Marsch swooped to sign the attacking midfielder from RB Salzburg for a reported fee of £24.7m in the summer of 2022 and he endured a difficult debut year in England.

The move came after a return of 13 goals and 15 assists in 66 appearances for the Austrian giants, including two assists in eight Champions League outings.

Aaronson did not do enough on the pitch to justify his price tag at Leeds, though, and his struggles on the pitch contributed to the club's eventual relegation from the Premier League in the 2022/23 campaign.

As you can see in the table above, the 23-year-old dud only produced four direct goal contributions despite featuring in all bar two of the top-flight matches.

One goal in 36 outings, which came in his third league appearance against Chelsea, shows that he did not offer much of a goal threat for the Whites.

The American flop was dubbed a "lightweight" by pundit Jon Newsome when speaking to BBC Radio Leeds in February 2023 of that season, which is backed up by the statistics above as he lost the majority of his duels on the deck and in the air.

He did not provide enough at the top end of the pitch, with a lack of goals and assists, and was a liability out of possession, as defenders found it far too easy to get the better of him.

Put simply, the £24.7m-rated flop could not adapt to the quality or the physicality of the top division in England and his issues were amplified by playing in a struggling Leeds team that ended up being relegated.

Aaronson did not opt to stick around for the club's first season back in the Championship, and made the decision to join Union Berlin on loan for the 2023/24 campaign.

As you can see in the table above, Aaronson, as was the case in the Premier League, rarely made an impact at the top end of the pitch for Union.

Across the 2022/23 and 2023/24 campaigns combined, the midfielder scored three goals and provided five assists in 66 top-flight matches in the Bundesliga and the Premier League.

In two starts against Sheffield Wednesday and Hull, Aaronson has produced one goal, three key passes, and three successful dribbles, to go along with a pass accuracy of 89%.

He has provided a dynamic and relentless presence in the number ten position with his reliable and creative passing, progressive dribbling skills, and an eye for goal.

The American gem ranks within the top 90.8% of his positional peers in the Championship for goals per 90 (0.81) and the top 76.1% for pass accuracy (85.9%), which speaks to his quality in front of goal and his reliability in general play.
